More About Dr. Willis
Dr. Willis is a member of both the Choctaw and Cherokee nations and when time permits, he joins in the pow wow as a Northern Traditional dancer. Here, at the Redbird Children of Many Colors pow wow held at Moorpark College in Simi Valley in July, Dr. Willis (in red, white and black) and other fellow Northern Traditional dancers, are honoring one of the 'Northern Drums' by dancing in place in front of the singer/drummers.
Pow wows are held all over the United States and Canada from early spring until as late as December in some of the southwestern states. And while they are indigenous to Native America people, all Nations are welcome at the pow wow. So you are officially invited to come out and have a good time. You can find out more by going to www.powwows.com for an expansive list of events.
You can also contact Dr. Willis right here, for more information about his connection to Mother Earth and his native roots.
